8 Things You Can Do in the Next 23 Hours to Improve Your Health

My Guide to an Extreme Reset Day

8 Things You Can Do in the Next 23 Hours to Improve Your Health

If someone held a gun to my head and said, “Harry, I need you to give me your step-by-step protocol to turn my health around. I only have 23 hours and by the end of it, I want to feel like a new person”.

Here is my extreme reset day:

  1. Digital Detox: Our relationship with technology continues to evolve every year, as we integrate these technologies deeper and deeper into our lives. While some benefits and efficiencies come from having the world at your fingertips, we also know there to be SEVERAL negative externalities to spending time online. That’s why, if you asked me to give you 8 things to do today to have a really, really healthy day, the first thing I would say is “get rid of your phone”.

  2. 20,000 Steps: I know 20,000 steps sounds completely crazy to most people but, in all honesty, it’s not that hard. It just takes commitment. During the pandemic I made a point to get outside and walk as much as I could, and I even had a few months where I reached 40,000 steps. A healthy day is going to involve a healthy amount of walking. It’s not just good for your body, but it’s also great for your mind!

  3. Water Fast: Fasting is an ancient spiritual practice, and for good reason. The scientific community has given credence to the idea that fasting is beneficial for the body, mind, and spirit. It’s a practice that allows your body to go through a cellular regeneration process called autophogy. A day long fast can have incredible benefits, especially when paired with getting off your phone and some low intensity movement like walking!

  4. Hot Yoga: Alright, here’s my favorite thing I like to do when I am in need of hitting the reset button with my health. Getting a great hot yoga session in always leaves me feeling recharged and refreshed. There’s something about the power of the heat and what it does to your muscles that makes you feel fresh.

  5. Read & Write: Reading and writing are two daily practices for me that I can’t replace. Reading allows me to enter another world without being drawn into different distractions. Writing opens up my mind to a cleaner more efficient way of thinking. I’ve found reading some scripture and reflecting on it in my journal to be incredibly fruitful for me - highly recommend!

  6. 5-minute meditation: Meditation is such a simple practice. I used to think meditation was kind of silly. I never understood it’s power until I got really into it during Covid. For months on end, I was meditating for 5-20 minutes per day and trying to spend more time with my thoughts. At the time, I remember feeling like meditating was something I really needed in my life. It allowed me to slow down and explore what was on my subconscious mind. Today, I use meditation as a way to get silent and connect with God. In practice, this looks exactly the same as my meditation before: I sit there, I close my eyes, I observe, and I listen.

  7. Long, deep conversation: Deep conversations can be as nourishing to the soul as a good meal. Honestly. When the right people are around and you’re able to share experiences and stories, there’s nothing quite like it. If someone forced me to create the healthiest day ever, long conversations would have to be apart of it.

  8. Bed by 9 PM: Last, but certainly not least, it’s time for bed. After a long day of being healthy and removing a lot of the stressors of life, there’s no better way to get 8-9 hours of sleep than getting to bed early. Easier said than done, but if you can you’ll be set up for an amazing next day!

WHAT SHOULD I FEED MY DOG?

For me it’s a no brainer.

Most dog food is complete garbage.

If you think we’re feeding people junk food, dog food is so much worse.

Dogs went from eating 100% meat-based to now eating 70% carbs from grains.

If you want to help your dog reclaim their health, checkout We Feed Raw for the best food out there. Use the code MEATMAFIA for 30% off your order.

HOW CAN I LOWER MY HEALTH CARE COSTS?

Are you frustrated with skyrocketing healthcare costs?

You're not alone.

Our broken health insurance system is driving premiums through the roof, with the average family plan increasing by over 5% last year alone. Even worse, if you're health-conscious, you're essentially subsidizing the poor health choices of others.

But there's a solution: CrowdHealth. It's not health insurance or a health share – it's a revolutionary approach where a decentralized community of over 7,000 members directly supports each other's large health expenses. With a 99% fund rate for health events over $500, CrowdHealth offers peace of mind without the traditional insurance hassle.

Now, CrowdHealth has launched the Carnivore Crowd initiative. This is a specialized group within CrowdHealth for verified metabolically healthy individuals following animal-based diets. By joining the Carnivore Crowd, you'll exclusively fund healthcare expenses for other metabolically healthy, animal-based eaters like yourself. It's your chance to stop subsidizing poor dietary choices and save money by being part of a health-conscious group.

Brett and I are already members of the Carnivore Crowd, and we love what it stands for. You can join us by using the code MEATMAFIA. This will get you a special rate of $99 per month for your first three months. When you sign up with this code, you'll be temporarily added to the Carnivore Crowd until you submit the required metabolic tests.

To learn more about how it all works, visit joincrowdhealth.com/carnivore.

Take control of your healthcare costs and join a community that values metabolic health as much as you do.
